I Am and I Am Not
the silence is louder than usual tonight
(no wonder I’m feeling so numb)
my musings arise as sacrifices into the chasm
where streams and seas shake hands,
the estuary of all life’s secrets—
exhaling shrimp, inhaling sharks
and somewhere else,
the crickets’ metronome begins to emerge
how peculiar their chirp is,
quieter than silence itself,
and I can only wonder
if they speak the same cricket dialect
and somewhere else,
a god knows itself to be god;
how rare that is,
and it wonders—
how things would be if everyone knew;
above down and under up are the same thing
left and right equals zero
and i am nothing
and everything has come of me.
and at the grand finale of all my memories
a budding world is eager to take their feeble place.
the loud silence becomes nothing
and everything comes of it.
