I Am An Oyster

My body is a shell
It's hard and rough
But inside is a muscle
Strong and tough

I've swallowed some sand
That's certainly true
But I hope the result
Is a pearl for you

I need you like water
So I'll stand in the rain
I love like Jesus
So I'll take any pain

If your love is sorrow
I'll cry all the tears
If you are afraid
I'll carry your fears

Your love is a comfort
Your touch is a joy
You take me back
To when I was a boy

I knew only fun
And I dreamed to explore
Searching adventure
But finding much more

A cave was a cavern
The moon was a lamp
To show that I've been there
My foot was a stamp

But when it was done
I followed the sun
'Cause it shined above you
And that's where I'd run

The world is my oyster
And you are my pearl
Wherever I'm at
You are my girl
