I Am An Evergreen Tree

Go ahead, stab me in the back.
I’ll turn around and still face you.
I am not stooping that low,
                       Go on attack mode.

Even if you throw me for the wolves,
                    I’ll return, leading the pack.
All your efforts blow in the wind.
It’s my name they are chanting.

                       I strike my own match.
                         And light the torch.
                        My flame is burning,
                        It’s a bolt of lightning.
                        I am beyond getting hurt.

                        I am an evergreen tree.
                          I don’t shed leaves.
                       But standing firm and tall.
                                 I control,
                            My own destiny.
