I AM A HUMAN

I am a human of skin and bone
That has always felt alone
My parents ruled with fear
A heavy use of fists when near

Autism limited me to learn
So Teachers neglect in turn
Children thought it was fun
To bully me and run

I am a human of skin and bone
To afraid to challenge them all
My head is full of darkness
As humans can be heartless

I have done nothing wrong
But punished all along
I don't want to run and hide
But one person's by my side

A person who had a glow
Loved and helped me grow
Taught me to be nice
Who gave lifes great advice

I am a human of skin and bone
With years full of lists of foes
A lot of anger built inside
My temper I could not hide

Fights caused a lot of hurt
With bruises and bloody shirts
The trouble that I got in
Made me look like a sin

Parents aren't in my phonebook
Bullies tremble with one look
School is a thing of the past
But hatred for teachers last

I am a human of skin and bone
Constantly frown and moan
Needing something to change
Redirect me from the rage

A pen carved me a new path
Writing jokes to make laughs
Funny poems full of rhyme
Helped me in tough times

It was easy to write about pain
Life stories and try in vain
To capture lifes whole truths
While I battle on through

I am a human of skin and bone
Learning to write on my own
Spelling came with ease
Grammar was more tricky

Now an accomplished poet
With my books taken credit
Awards and competitions won
And it all felt like fun

Finally getting my life on track
Trying not to look back
I now have a baby to keep safe
Who'll never have evil to face
