Notes About The Poem
Tania Kitchin's I Am A Tree Contest...25 Sept 25

I Am A Guava Tree

Tassels of beads light my garment
as tropical air fondles my skin
 content in the ripened grace
of my arms and round, orange fruitage,
shading men from rainfall and sun.

I nestle on the ground, hair basking
in May's glint...my guava pulp exploding
from Asian roots born of clay, and I,
in copper- like pose, become maiden
of woods, ever- rich... and evergreen.

Guava trees trees are tropical trees. There are three guava trees in my yard. I love guava fruits. Well written dear Nette. All the Best.

Nicely done. In my childhood , we kids enjoyed climbing the guava tree and eating its fruit. The bark of this tee is so soft, unlike other trees which is a bit hard.

You didn't just write about a guava tree, you wrote about the most poetic guava tree anyone could ever see. Lovely in every regard.
