I Am a Flower (Internal rhyme)
I've recently begun to think ~ of myself as a flower
I'm a bloom on the brink ~ of dying with each hour.
But I've also come to learn ~ that I should not fear death.
It's a concept I'll not spurn ~ when I take my final breath.
The reason that I know ~ is that a flower is just a part
Of the seed God did sow ~ from deep within His heart.
Little buds will form anew ~ upon my sturdy stem.
It's a prophecy come true ~ and it's all because of Him.
As each withered blossom falls ~ another starts to thrive.
God waters one and all ~ to keep us healthy and alive.
Each Autumn I stand tall ~ and proudly show my face.
It's the best season of all ~ for my petals are in place.
I'm a colorful attraction ~ to those who visit me.
Bringing much satisfaction ~ to the busy little bees.
Take in my fragrant scent ~ Enjoy it while it lasts.
My beauty was surely meant ~ to linger when I've passed.
But I'll never weep or mourn ~ a demise such as mine
For when I was born ~ I was placed upon God's vine.
From tiny bud to wilted end ~ I live for just a while
In a garden God does tend ~ I'm His fragile little child.
Mother's roots are intact ~ there are more like me to come.
I have a name, in fact ~ I am called Chrysanthemum.
