I Am

I Am

 I am grass
I wonder if the wind will blow
 I hear someones foot steps
I imagine swaying in the breeze
 I Am grass

I understand when it rains I grow
I want to feel the drops all over me
I worry that some day I might dry up
I cry when I think of that day
 I Am grass

I say " Come, Sit, Enjoy Me"
 I dream under the stars
I try to look my best- Green, Inviting
I hope for sunny days- Spring showers- Flowers
 I Am grass

That's good. You take on the personifcation of the grass and what it wants to give. But what happens when it comes time to mow? Or are you just left to go to seed? Are you cared for? Are you nurtured. An abundance of rain can make you grow tall but care and loving can make you beautiful and strong. Life is giving and giving is life. To me, that is what you portrayed here and I thank you for making me think. Well done.

Kudos to a young poet! Tam, I've never given a thought to the inviting green grasses that decorates our earth. You said it all - their needs, their feelings, their experiences, their plights. It was well personified. Welcome to poetrysoup!
