I Am

I was
the hand
that clung to yours
the voice
which made you smile
the touch
that eased your pain
the kiss
upon your cheek

I am
the life
that has been lost
the body
inside this coffin
the sadness
that is your greif
the reason
for your tears

I will be
the memory
which makes you laugh
the ache
inside your heart
the spirit
watching over you
the angel
i always dreamed of being
I will be
