Who are you to look upon I as if I can fit into the pages of a book? As if one glance can fit this eternal ocean right in its nook? As if I can be bounded up in the cover Tightened by a string, escorted by punctuation, while I wait for your words to be able to sing. Who are you to label me? As if I can be captured by your words. My name gets choked up in vocals, as I pull on the chords. I am who I am, nothing less I am not defined by your constructed tests I am the fire in you soul, the beat in your chest I am greater than your law, I stand above the rest You will address me as such

Thaj, another poet here was kind enough to refer me here. I think many of us feel labeled and experience/sense a lack of respect for who we are. I am so glad you are standing up for who you are and are doing so with such eloquence. The way you express this is quite striking.

“Escorted by punctuation” whoa! Thats a brilliant line! “Who are you to label me” i recently wrote a monoku too on this. So many are quick to label, and judge people based on skin color, sadly the reality! What a powerful write this is! And i can see you rhyme very well! Flawless and captivating! “ I am not defined by your constructed tests” yes say it louder! *claps*
