'i'

I cannot seem to find my feet. I cannot seem to make ends meet. I cannot seem to find my stride. Whenever I do it starts to hide. I feel sorrow and I feel pain. I feel lost and I feel lame. I feel scared and I feel shame. Oh, the dreams of having fame. I see the clouds dancing free. I see the trees swaying in unity. I see the ocean rippling fast. Then sun comes out, but never lasts. I hear the crying in the night. I hear the screams of sudden fright. I hear the whispers of my past. The sounds of echos seem to last. I wish the past would leave me be. I wish the past would let me sleep. I wish the past would let me dance. My mind must leave this horrid trance. I know you’re there while I sleep. I know you’re there in my dreams. I know you’re lying next to me. You must leave and let me be. The past is hard to let go. The future’s scary and unknown. The past is safe and controlled. You must take step and leave the old.
