Hypocrite

I WAS A CHRISTIAN A LONG TIME
BEFORE I BECAME A TRUE CHRISTIAN
AND I KNEW THE WORD, AND MAN!!!
COULD I TALK THE TALK...
BUT I WAS JUST BEING, RELIGIOUS
WITH MY "JESUS SAVES" PLATE, ON MY CAR
JUST BEING A HYPOCRITE, KNOWING,
I DON'T WALK THE WALK
SO PROUD OF THE KNOWLEDGE, I HAD IN THE WORD
WHEN KNOWLEDGE, IS NEVER, ENOUGH
MY DEEDS WERE EXTERNAL...CONVICTION, ELUDED MY HEART
THE CHURCH WORK I DID, WAS WITHOUT THE RIGHT MOTIVES
I DID IT TO BE IN THAT, "CIRCLE"
BUT ALL DONE IN VAIN, FOR NOWHERE, DID GOD PLAY A PART

I WAS JUDGMENTAL, AND I CRITICIZED
THE MEMBERS ATTENDING MY CHURCH
SHOOK HANDS WITH THE PASTOR, BUT GOD KNOWS, I SPOKE ON HIM TOO!
ONE FOOT IN THE KINGDOM, AND ONE IN THE WORLD
WITH TOO MUCH WORLD NOW IN THE CHURCH
EXPOSING MY HEART THROUGH MY FOUL MOUTH AND THINGS THAT I DO
MY SERVICE TO GOD WAS ALL USELESS
'CAUSE REMEMBER, MY MOTIVES, WERE WRONG
AND GOD HAD TO WORK ON MY ATTITUDE, TO CHANGE MY WAYS...
AND WITH TIME, I BECAME A TRUE CHRISTIAN
WHO WALKS IN HIS LOVE AND HIS LIGHT
I LIVE TO PERFORM HIS GOOD WILL, FOR THE REST OF MY DAYS

AMEN!
