Hurting Heart

Sometimes emotions hurt the heart deeply
It's heavy, tired, waiting for release from tears
It needs comfort, warmth, insulation, so fragile
Like a cracked piece of glass, ready to crumble
It feels close, but distant, unable to reach
Protected with self defense to hurt no more
Where is the love it is crying for with an echo?
Where is the trust it yearns for to survive?
It hurts from what ears can hear out there
It hurts from what your eyes see at times
It hurts from memories your mind may have
It waits for healing and beats to its own drum
The hurting heart beats until it finds music
Whether anyone sings or dances, it must play to live

Exhale the ones that hurt--I hear the effects of things unpleasant out there.

Yes Vijay. It is hard to know people suffering. I appreciate your comment. Thank you :)

Poignant, piercing, painful ~ like the fresh morning breeze … embrace, hold, release … with ease
