Nicely done, Kim. Interesting to note that the three of us, Edward Ibeh, you and I, wrote "Hurricane Michael" haiku :)

"beachcomber beast"; I love this; you've summed it all up in those two words.

I have been watching this storm as well, though hurricanes normally don't affect where I live, I always feel for those in the path. Well done my friend.

We have to count our blessings sometimes, the worst we get is heavy rain , have seen what these beasts can do. Tom.

Awesome haiku, Kim! I was up all night watching Michael intensify. My former neighbors in Tallahassee did not evacuate. The path looks much like the one from Hurricane Kate in the mid 1980s, which tore giant oaks from the ground. Your last line is genuinely frightening. Let's pray lives are spared. Hugs, Carolyn

Beast is the right word for this one, Kim. I trust you are out of harm's way, as am I. It will be interesting someday to look back and see how poetry is recording history.

Glad you're not in the path of the storm, Caren!
