Notes About The Poem

Humpty Dumpty Goes West

Humpty Dumpty came to town
wearing a despicable frown,
ordered a drink and drank it down,
sitting up so tall.

An egg as stubborn as mule,
he had forgotten the golden rule.
So, though he sat high on his stool,
he took a dreadful fall.

Oh, my bubble is burst, David. Well, at least I know the tooth fairy is still real. ~ Gappy Heart Net

Don't worry! The tooth fairy is real. I may have use for him soon. He's usually dependable except when he's out drinking with Humpty Dumpty.

Sounds like Humpty had been drinking too much pride on this occasion

haha, probably. I can't explain that guy, but I know he gets nasty when he drinks...and also, he has a round butt, so it's hard for him to balance on a stool.

What a fun write. I needed this laugh. Bartender, take that drink away from Humpty Dumpty. Have a good day writing away............

Good point! Humpty Dumpty is one guy we need to keep away from the sauce - for obvious reasons!
