Human Seasons

Spring is like childhood Time to grow Develop roots Experience the warmth of the sun And bathe in the soothing rain. Summer is like youth Grows stronger Roots sink deeper Heavy rain and wind Will not deter him If he has Strong and deep roots Autumn is like middle age Time for harvest For some, little to harvest For others, much to harvest In late Autumn Leaves start to fall Like man losing his hair Branches lose their suppleness Like man’s muscles and joints turning stiff Winter is like old age Without leaves to protect from the cold Without suppleness to bend with the wind A person waits for God To call his name Home. Seasons come and go in cycles Year after year But human seasons have only one cycle A person is born once And dies once
