Human Rights

(This poem does not conform to some countries only to those that do)

It seems we have become a civilized lot
With bewildering laws to protect everyone,
Although having taken away common sense
To historics in society, we’ve lost the plot.
When in these days where wrong is put to right
With an insincere tear and one solitary word,
And social care for everyone and those monsters
Whom with evil intent take a life or more and skite.
The law an A*s when truth proven beyond doubt
Thanks to the intervention of modern forensics,
Only for loopholes to make the lawyers rich
Easier than water rushing down the spout.
The worst scenario for those that delve in death
A life sentence of fifteen to twenty-five years,
Many to fake remorse and forgiveness
Create pity on social media with every breath.
Early release on parole another lawyer’s feat
The interns leave refreshed and in better shape,
Than those without sin they’ll likely pass by
Asleep under stark conditions upon the street.

The world is one big toilet right now, in my opinion. Somebody flush that thing!

Truth-telling pen. Outrage is needed at this point in our "civilization." shalom, shalom Sir Harry

Hello Harry … corruption, greed, and power take control and then the masses suffer. Governments everywhere grab all the power they can and I’m concerned with this virus what extra they have grabbed won’t be returned - thank you for your fine verse Harry - Lindsay

A deep, brilliant poem Harry. The ones creating chaos 25 years is too little, life sentence, and for those that apologize on the media, they will be back again with their thousands of comrades, more camouflaged than before. Terrific poem my friend. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

So very true. Injustice exists everywhere. Last two lines perfectly stated. But in the end all sinners suffer as God is sure to punish. Impartial is his justice. It transcends birth. People forget or aren't aware. ~ Have a wonderful weekend. Take care Rama

Well written Harry, there's so much injustice in our world, some countries I have no desire to visit. Tom

It is very sad how things just keep rising to the worst. But I still have hope for peace and love. :)

Are you sure this does not reflect what's happening in the whole world? ~~
