How Would You Know
I am the wind that sways the trees
And moves branches in ways like mime
I push clouds across the blue sky one by one
Like train cars on a long train track
I blow seedlings around to grow in new places
And I help leaves in autumn to let go
In a myriad of fluttering, vibrant colors
I can cool someone off on a hot sweltering day
I can chill to the bone, while howling in winter
I can shake things, break things, all the while
Make cracks like wrinkles along my way
But how would you know what the depth of quiet stillness
In the air, things on land and water can be… without me?
