How Will Your Soul Be Judged

What if our body was gone, head to heel
Does that mean we will no longer be whole
Could we sense how each of us would feel
What if all that’s left was our very soul?

Our bodies are not just how we are made
Stripped of that pretense, and maybe our sins
Some may glow brightly, while others may fade
But you know, that’s when the judging begins.

Your thoughts will not be so easy to hide
One soul may dim and another may shine
They won’t be able to hide what’s inside
Do you think your soul’s better than mine?

Although your soul may not have any eyes
Strive to make your spirit loving and wise!

Betty JWelcome to Poetry soup, I hope you enjoy the community. Here, you will find friendly poets who enjoy supporting one another. I myself, enjoy reading and commenting those who want to be read. The only time I give constructive criticism is when a poet desires it. However, if for some reason the poem is not my field I will guide you to someone who is more qualified than I. Stop by and read one of my poems if you like. My poems are not perfect, but I have a feeling you might like one. I encourage you to check out the contest page and read to receive comments. Tell me a little about your poetic skills if you like. It will be my pleasure to follow and read every poem you post from here on :) We are Lucky To Have you. Your New Poet Friend @-> LINDA <-@

Thanks Linda, I am fairly new to poetry but seem to be drawn to writing in new and different formats. Some of them I even invent. Lol! Most of my later work is in sonnet form, that seems to be the way my mind works but I love them all, especially limericks. My work usually goes along an inspirational vein as well. Glad to make a new friend!

Thank you so much! I only began writing poetry at 72 when it came to me out of the blue one day. It was quite a shock since I had never even read or enjoyed poetry thru the years. Since then I have written hundreds of them and will share some of my favorites. I love writing in new formats!
