“Spring” was written in 1948 when I was nine years old.
I have written poetry all my life

By the age of nine my poetic urge had sprung to be part of me- as new Spring was on its way with the magic of my pen. My poetic muse came to stay with me that day helping me write, "Spring"- planted the art of writing in my heart throughout the years.

Nice Tanka! What great penmanship! So cool you've written all your life! I too started in very early childhood. By highschool I had written over 1000 original songs poems and jingles. Not all were good but all were mine :0)

Thank you for stopping by, Karen with your supportive comment- much appreciated. It's so good to know you were also a child poet and it remained a part of your life. Yes, Cursive was used in those days, especially in Catholic schools, where you had to practice for hours!! :)
