When my time on this earth is through,
After the Autumn of my life has gone
And, death comes to me – I’ll walk on
Into heaven, where there is love anew
When this world is in the past, forever comes
After the light burns into my heart, my soul
And, I’m with the One who makes me whole
As heaven smiles its joy and grace welcomes
When nothing in this life can mean so much
After the wonder of His light inspires my love
And, faith knows it was right to wait for truelove
There in heaven’s glow, trembling from His touch
When life on earth is past and I see Him at last
After all my dreams and wishes have come true
And, I know what it means to know, see through
The dark into the spirit of One who is steadfast
When everything in this life means nothing at all
After the beauty of heaven sings me into His peace
And, the music is filled with forever that won’t cease
So, there I abide where there is never a nightfall
When my season on this planet has been fulfilled
After the spirit inside me knows real contentment
And, inside my soul there is no hatred or resentment
Because, with Him I know real love so I’m thrilled
When all the past can no longer haunt me with fears
After this struggle with darkness is flung to the stars
And, someone on earth might offer my life’s memoirs
I’ll know the meaning of love that wipes away my tears
