How Can That Be

HOW CAN THAT BE

                      March, nineteen seventy five
it was a night, I could never forget.
I was in bed reading a book,
when I noticed the blue curtain moving.

Followed by a gush of cold air,
coming in from a closed window,
filled the room and then enveloping me.
            My grandmother Dolores’ face appeared,
so close to my face and kissed me.

It was so vivid, so lifelike that I felt
the tenderhearted kiss she gave me so deeply
and it would stay in my mind and heart forever.

How can that be, when she was in the Philippines,
which is thousands of miles away from the United States.
I got a call the next day that she passed away!

I believe Delores's spirit visited you just before she died. (I've had similar premonitions.) Your entry is fascinating. Congratulations on a great win! Best wishes, Carolyn

Thank you so much! The irony is I did not realize her genuine love for me until then... and I left the Philippines in 1974 not even knowing if she was sick and 9 months later, she was gone. Have a splendid week-end.
