How Can I Help You To Say Good-Bye?

As she lay there in the hospital bed,
All cold and holding onto her life-
She prayed to GOD and asked him,
"Please LORD, keep me alive."
SHE said, "I have a mom who needs me,
To help her around the house.
And a daddy who loves to play with me,
And drive me all around the town.
I have friends at school to play with,
And boys to talk about.
Please dear LORD, don't take me yet,
I have so much life here to learn about."
But, it was her time to go,
And she knew that GOD was right.
She could no longer put up with all the pain,
She knew she could no longer fight.
As the doctor told her mom and dad,
"It is time to say your last good-byes",
They stood there beside their babies bed,
With tears pouring out there eyes.
She held her mother's hand and said,
"It's ok mama, I'll be alright".
She said, "the angels are here to take me now,
To walk along GOD'S side".
Her daddy kissed her forehead
And said that he loved her so.
He said, "I will be okay my little girl,
It's time now for you to go".
But before she reached over
To take her angels hand,
Her parents asked her a question-
To this day they will never understand.
They said to her, "baby, we are so very sorry
We could not take away your pain.
We are sorry you had all this to go through,
Sorry you could not last another day.
If we could not help you keep your life,
Than how can we help you to say good-bye?"
She looked at them, and with a smile she said,
"DON'T SAY IT", and closed her eyes.
