- How Are You -

Things aren't always what the seem
"I'm Fine"
Pretended to be happy although I was falling apart inside
"I'm Fine"
The years have passed, I am still with tears
"I'm Fine"
The pain rises like a huge volcanic mountain
"I'm Fine"
I have never chosen this pain, and it will never blow
"I'm Fine"
At lonely nights, fear and taste of blood in my mouth
"I'm Fine"
You can't just give up and say you're done
"I'm Fine"

Maria Williams April 21, 2017 at 11:23 PM In this busy world we live in and things have become almost robotic, and words have become just that, easier then it is to say 'I'm fine', people really dont care to listen anymore. True friends have learned to listen to a tone of voice to know though. Lynn Marie April 20, 2017 at 12:44 AM Those two words really are misleading. It's like a curt reply to move on to other things to talk about. One knows in their heart when someone wants to genuinely know 'how you are'. Most are involved in their own busy lives, it has become almost robotic to inquire of ones well-being without sincerely wanting to know. Pain is especially 'uncomfortable' to understand and your words express how alienating it feels, realistically, with great heart. I kind of think people just ask how you are without really wanting to know.... a polite gesture. You were able to expose the pain with those simple words "I'm fine".
