House of Cards

House of cards, no agent can sell
Sulfuric regret all I smell
Laid flat with quiet violence
By one soft breath of pure silence

Building it shouldn't be so hard
The joke's on me with no discard
Loyalty my own worst penance
By one soft breath of pure silence

Was told triangles built strong things
But the most coveted are those rings
Stand them back up in defiance
By one soft breath of pure silence

Vows it seems, forgotten notion
My breath not soft, nor pure silence

I know <3, just my take on how sad the triviality of marriage has become. Good to hear from you old friend! A.S.

Interesting form, my friend. I don't see these very often. Well-written and sharing your personal experience with it was nice. Have a great day! Bill

Thank you very much! I've been hearing and dealing with a lot of friends going through separation and divorce lately. This was my attempt to shed light on the trivolity that seems to be plaguing marriage. It's not a new plague but unfortunate but it's one that seems no one is looking for a cure for. Reverently A.S.
