house

i left you in that house, that house i can never return to. i didn’t mean to lose you, but i needed to leave and you wanted to stay. as i turned back to call out your name, i saw the first flame. i could have saved you. but i can't enter that house again. we could have burned together. but i left instead. i heard your screams and coughs. but i can never enter that house.
