Hot Like a Firecracker

Hot like a Firecracker, Red Dances her Truth Red is a savage, Takes no prisoners For she wants for nothing Red is complete Onto herself A pirate-faerie-gypsy-queen Red is hot like a firecracker Red dances her truth Stopping at stop signs Only to say "hi" to her cousins Red is a fire hydrant Waiting impatiently Tapping her foot, setting her own fires Red is not to be scoffed. Red is sassy, sexy, sensual Red is pizza, red is spaghetti. Stay out of her way!

Thank you Jennifer. I am lucky. I spend my days with children, picking their brains.

Oh, yeah! Russians say: "Krasny patamooshta strastny" (it's red because it's passionate) I love reds. I'm in the red t-shirt now!) P.S.: Watch out, Wolf. I see you down there)

Hahahaha You are hilarious my poet friends! I am trying to conjure up my "Big Bad Wolf" poem now that Wolf has enticed me into trying. I may write a poem about Paper Bag Man also, Kurt. So watch out yourself!

Valentines are red; so is blood; so was the USSR...endless fascination! (And then, of course, there's "I'd rather be dead than red in the head," which (as an ex-redhead), I reversed to read: "I'd rather be red, than dead in the head." :) gw

I have dyed my hair so many shades of red, it is fabulous; I use "burgandy" now.

Hi Caren, first time to your site and liked your two most recent poems. I'm just a smidgen disappointed that you neglected to mention Chianti, my favorite red! Ha! May you aspire to the fire Van Gogh only saw in his wet dreams!

Chianti is a prissy word, for true artists. I am a cartoon-drawing-throw-it-hard-and-fast-and-paint-everything-in-neon artist.

I love RED. LOVE IT! Except red stop signs; I HATE stop signs because you are supposed to stop, and I like pausing so much better.

Being an artist, it made sense to start thinking of how I feel about each color as I love them all only using beige for mushrooms or around a deer's eye, and gray nearly never.

Red is a culinary delight, but try not to earn her spite. Flavors italian; loaded with cheese; more, more; I want more please! Okay, overdone but...enjoyed.

I love spicy foods; most of them red except my favorite - jalapeno peppers which I have been warned by doctors to stay away from; but I can't!
