Hot Chips Anyone

How anyone say “no thank you” to hot chips l do not understand The enticing smell so completely irresistible For hot chips l would swim ocean and walk land! Warm and comforting on a cold day A must when by the sea Accompanied with salt and vinegar Or ladened and covered in gravy At the end of a lovely summers day Basking in the warmth of the evening To end that perfect day Hot chips please….a-steam’n! Hot chips just by themselves Or as a strong right hand man Always the perfect offsider So versatile…. eat them as you can I often hear the salty sound of hot chips a-calling me “Are you on your way….we are waiting Deb” Out of sheer politeness “only”…..my reply “Yes I am” How rude would l be if l said “No” instead!!

Chips are one of my favs. I use to make chunky chips and deep fry them, but now do them in the air fryer. Nice with gravy too. I agree, it would be rude to say no to chips lol. Emilia : )

What a fun poem Deb- can smell them as I’m reading and being British (and vegan) I’ll have mine with mushy peas! Plus, lots and lots of ketchup! It was amusing to read and now I must dash to put the fryer on! ?? Have a great weekend.

Oh my Deb, you have me aching for them as I read this!!! For me, I love them with salt, pepper and ketchup! BUT, I would not turn them down with gravy! In the old days, we would get them after we closed down the bars as 2am and called them Disco Fries!! What a lovely read!!! Happy Saturday xxoo

OMG I never realised you had visited our little Island - Peel the sunset city with the amazing Castle and ice cream parlour next door to the charity shop. The marine hotel is up for sale now - am gutted as the food is amazingggg. Let me know if you ever plan to visit again! hugs Jan xx

Same here in Oz Jan….crisps are chips also….your way makes more sense l must say…..we have chips and hot chips! Now thats confusing! Ha Either way they are yummy! Ive had hot chips at the Peel Fish n Chip shop in IOM looking at the castle on a beautiful wild wintery day then popped into the op-shop next door( what you call charity shop haha) for a bargain! Perfect day!! Debx
