Horses and Snowflakes
Horses and snowflakes,
open fire and hoe cakes,
oh how they bring such joy
to my heart.
Riding my black
through fields of white,
taking me back
to a place of respite
youth can impart.
Rings and promises,
“I do’s” and adjectives,
lead to life filled with joy
to my heart.
Children and in-laws
come with the moment,
effect and cause
so volatile, potent
from the start.
Horses and snowflakes,
fields and quiet lakes,
musing on life filled with joy
to my heart.
Love in abundance,
strong everlasting,
nothing happenstance,
no way contrasting
a work of art.
