Hope Prevails

a smile so forced contrived your eyes have lost their spark i hardly recognize your face as the contortions betray the pain for so long now you’ve tried to dispel the toll on your body hard to bear as exhaustion drains the life out of you the color flushed quelling how fears grow we strive to do our best to stay forever hopeful Published in my 24-page photo/anthology ~CENSORED~ 2020 AP: Honorable Mention 2022 Posted on June 1, 2019

Have seen this look on younger people, too who don't love life or live in a negative space. Hope that makes sense. My Mom was Ill for years but never looked hopeless. As for me, I was hopeful with her no matter what.., Panagiota

It is so difficult to see someone living in pain. What a relief when there is an effective pain management plan or better yet when the pain finally goes away.
