Hope Is a Tireless Toddler

.

Hope is a tireless,
wide-eyed toddler
who happily drools 
at the thought of again 
taking tentative 

... steps.


         She sways sideways, 
         reels backwards,
         staggers forward, 
         falls down again
         on bruised 

         ... knees.


Again, she gets up, 
starts walking, plodding,
innocently undaunted, 
fumbling, tirelessly
toddling on tiny 

... feet.

I am so tired of hearing Terrible Twos that I know use my own term: The Terrific Twos. I really liked the picture you painted, sweet but not sappy. Thanks for posting this!
