Hope Ignited
As I traveled the lonely miles
I found comfort in some country music
I don’t listen to often
As I passed the lake shimmering in sunlight,
Just beyond the ledge of ice
With a boundary of white snow on the edge,
I realized, no matter what is happening
Things still shine
As I listened to someone offer understanding
For ailments,
I understood how people still care
Then, humor made me laugh in ways I needed to hear
Far beyond the worries of our minds,
There is so much to find
Whether traveling lonely miles
To open our eyes, to believe in the next sight,
The next encounter, the next chance,
Because hope can quickly ignite in so many ways
Sights, words, simple gestures
Weaved into our travels to be found in all days
