Hope At Last

My life, up until I met my wife, Was traumatic to say the least. She took control and I let her, Then things changed for the better, Our daughter came into my life, She didn't take away all the strife, But she was a light that I needed, Some of the hurt I had then receded. We built our home on the love we had, Working so hard, no time to feel sad. Then along came daughter number two, Now we were four, no time to stew. Not saying that all was hunky dory, My past life was another story. Our life together now for 46 years, Has had it's moments of worry and tears. Like the photo's and trinkets of the past. Lie in that biscuit tin, under the bed, at last. There they will stay, until that day appears, When I can shout for joy. NO MORE TEARS! © Dave Timperley 25 July 2016.
