Hope
Cruel World seeks hope within lies
We turn our heads as Mother Earth cries
Like birds, hope may fly when confronting lies.
Wee butterfly gives a try
to bring Hope back unscathed.
It flits over meadows, purple hills;
stops for a drink of rose nectar sweet.
Enlists the help of a summer breeze,
for it covers more land and is fleet.
we long to find hope
yet it dwells deep within each
sitting by courage
