Hop On the Joy Ride

Hop on the joy ride, where no gloom is found. On poles - up and down - bright animals glide And children are smiling round and around. Hop on the joy ride! Choose a good seat! We should sit side by side! How about the zebra, next to the hound? Or would you prefer that horse, so wild-eyed It seems he’ll fly off the merry-go-round! This gay carousel will also provide A tune that recalls our youth's happiest sound. Hop on the joy ride! Written by Andrea Dietrich 7/12/13 for nette onclaude's Carousel in Roundel Poetry Contest

Andrea Such a cute and charming write. Takes the reader back to childhood and the innocence of riding the horsies. Nice job Thanks for the great comment on my Starting Over poem

I share your joy of this poem winning in the nette onclaud's contest of August 19, 2013. This is an awesome write, Andrea. You deserve the win. Thanks for visiting my poem Bloodshed in Myanmar and for your kind words. I wrote this when tyranny was unleashed in Myanmar in the name of religion. From the time immemorial pen has been fighting the sword. To my mind there can't be better use of pen than to fight for the world peace. Love. -Mohammad

Your beautiful poem makes me think about the Zoo of my state Assam of India. I enjoyed there in the same way you worded here. Surely all are thinking about childhood life. Good luck in the contest, my friend. Loved always, bl
