Fish is my favourite food. I detest seeing animals being killed for food, but I eat everything except Jerusalem artichokes. Well written dear Valsa.

Mostly a Vegi -- that hurts. Can't believe God created it this way. Something wrong. Well said.

I'd say the odds are against those fish...

It must be a terrible way to go, yet, as a fish afficionado, I am partly responsible. I hope we can stop overfishing.

This is a short form, but with your collection of words you have really created vivid imagery here...

Beautiful and deep haiku! Iv never read one on this subject and its i think very clever and creative and well described! You always amaze me sweet valsa! I especially love “ fight for survival” literally see them fight when i go fishing with my son and sometimes it breaks my heart. Altho im not vegetarian. I sometimes wish i were seeing them fight like that. Brilliant! A fave this is for me! Sending you light always

Dear Empress, I know it is not a great poem worthy of admiration.... though you have praised it. Thanks a lot. I simply entered the contest for the fun of it. The last line, I deliberately used. The fish caught in the net, struggle and fight for life. For the fishermen, it is again a fight for survival as they risk their own lives launching themselves into the turbulent waves for earning a means of livelihood.

I guess that net was loaded until almost the breaking point. I guess if those fish are edible and can be preserved, they will feed some family for a long time. Thanks for sharing that one with us and for dropping by my page. Sara K
