Homeward Bound
My heart is sad
And the way is lonely and long,
And there is a fear
that I may be lost.
The sun is set,
And the sky is gray and cold,
And I am, oh!
a home bound solitary bird--
Forlorn and perched
on the branch of a dead tree.
