Home to Rest
(She said, "I love my room."
The very happy feeling of being home.)
Today,
my daughter came home.
She was not crying this time,
so my heart is lighter than last.
She showed me new shirts,
gathered items from a tourist shop.
I simply listened,
so thrilled to hear her speak.
To focus on her voice,
and watch, no gaze at her face,
dance with delight at the memories,
she created with someone else.
I am not jealous,
it is a sign...
she has her own life,
and is growing up.
Probably already there,
and I am slow to arrive.
You don't remember anything,
of yesterday's darkness.
God again has blessed me.
No one should recall,
where we have been.
The future is bright,
and the sunshine is Light,
you are a dove,
in flight.
A treasure to see,
from the ground to the sky,
so high...
fly on angel,
to the stars!
