The first thing she saw when she opened her eyes
is his beautiful smile , as she sits up and tries
but the doctor says ' no, you cant get up yet'
it was a long operation, and the healing to let

the surgery not good, but had to be done
and wont know for weeks if she's finally won
but they'll face it together, what ever may come
whatever will be, she can still feel the sun

she cant hear a bird song or rustle of leaves
and she cant him say' l love you' if covered in sleeve
but things are so better, if fighting together
and if he's beside her, all problems they'll weather

the surgery not good, and they told her in time
she wont hear a thing, but things will be fine
and the music she loves, no more shall she hear
and they always say better, if fighting together

so life is funny, as she cant hear him much
as she lip reads his lips, and his face she does touch
he jokes he can say , what ever he likes
and she jokes she will buy him , a loud speaker mike

but she misses the music, of natures out doors
and the sound of the rain , on windows and doors
but she thanks her God daily , for not being alone
and fighting things together , for home ................ is home
