Home
A woodland path
in the dappled sun,
hushed and quiet
I peer up
at the canopy
of swaying branches
childlike giggles
echoing through
the quiet forest
I run back to my mom
with a smile
and she holds me tight
So I walk in
the comforting embrace
of my mother
We walk together
through the trees
and the simple elegance
of the redwoods
The sparkling river
wet and cold
rushing slowly
over the rocks
We cross a bridge,
her and I
and we laugh
and I smile
and relax
into her arms
in the shafts of light
in the beauty of it all
In Nature's glow
And the earth reaches out
to me
and I lie back
with my mom
and together we bask
in the sunlight
of all this,
of home.
