“Poetry is one way to escape, without leaving home.”
-Poet
Home is made with tender loving care,
A broad beaming smile and a tear here or there.
It’s a treasure chest that holds secrets kept secure.
To family and friends there’s a revolving door.
Loving people where conversation is a must.
Built with encouragement, loyalty and trust.
Home isn’t really a place, it’s more of a feeling.
It’s nice to be there if you are in need of healing.
It’s the smell of good cooking, and a sense of pride.
Shelter from rain and warmth when its cold outside.
When guests arrive, don’t mind the weather,
All will be good because we are now together.
Whether it’s a mansion or a home quite plain,
It’s the comfort of your own pillow to be home again.
It’s the keeper of memories over the years.
Home reflects fun and laughter to dispel any fears.
Adventures lead you to magic and it’s fun to roam.
Your heart tells you when it’s time to come home.
Have you ever noticed when looking for a place to stay,
You choose a place that is most like home, when away.
Its fine to have ambition and chase your dreams,
But always know the way home, if it isn't what it seems
When young we want to leave, a wanderlust attack.
We grow old, it’s our home, we just want to get back.
