Holy Is the Lamb
dramatic verse with anaphora
Christ, we confess You as Savior and Lord;
The Lamb’s Book of Life, our name written down.
Your love, grace and mercy is our reward.
At the judgment seat, we’ll offer our crown.
Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Christ, we commend You to foe and to friend;
strangers hear of our deepest convictions.
Behold the Lamb, transgressions to amend,
who forgives all our sinful addictions.
Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Christ, we concede to your authority
which You refused when You came down to earth.
Bound to salvation - your priority,
You, Holy Lamb, bore a pauper’s low birth.
Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Christ, we celebrate your life and your death,
The Passover Lamb, our highest treasure.
Without your example, your living breath,
this earthly existence has no pleasure.
Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Christ, we crown You – reigning, King.
We aspire for a place in your kingdom.
Worthy are You, Lamb, your meekness we sing;
we give all to partake of your wisdom.
Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
