Hollow Horror
You left your hollow horror buried deep...
a hollowness unfathomed as we think
about the impact that your strike would reap
and change the path of life in just a blink.
So like a programmed missile, aim precise,
you blazed our Earth with death as you arrived.
For sure, this cataclysm would suffice
to form wide, hollow gaps where life had thrived.
Your wound, six miles deep and nine across
unleashed catastrophe that choked the air.
You spewed its contents, long-term albatross,
that suffocated Earth beyond compare.
Beneath the deepest layers of the Yucatán,
your hollow rests both under land and sea.
Through many million years- new life began...
rebuilt Earth species' timeline, globally.
Through five extinctions, life on Earth was stilled...
from hollowness to wholeness...emptied...filled.
