Holiest of Nights
A star did shine
on the holiest of nights.
Down on shepherds
came the bright light.
Above a lowly manger
into a world full of danger.
Came the light unto all men,
the keeper of peace within.
The babe born and wrapped
in poor swaddling cloths.
Cherubim and seraphim
thronged the cold air;
announcing their glories,
and gift sent by
heaven above.
Wise men still wandering
on the endless journey.
Guided by the bright shinning
Star in the East.
Heaven declared him the one
called Wonderful.
Born in Bethlehem
this night.
Behold the beasts of the
manger bowed their knees
To worship at the foot of
The lowly manger of
the Christ Child.
Isaiah
9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon
his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The
everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
