Holiday Blues

Baking and x’mas cards is what you’ve got,
When covers and Kleenex is what you want.
People rushing to and fro,
responsibilities, you’ve got to go.
Hard to hide the tears that glisten,
Nobody’s got time to stop and listen.
If you can make it through the next weeks,
Maybe you’ll find the comfort you seek.
Holidays are often full of great strife,
Emotions buried, may then come to life.
For a friend who needs a seasonal lift,
A quiet hug my be just the gift.

Written for a friend who suffers
from holiday depression

I know many who goes through this time just waiting anxiously for the days to end. It can be difficult and your poem captures that feeling so well. Much love, Chris.

This is such a heartfelt tribute to your friend. I have major depressive disorder and anything can set it off and it can last days sometimes. I hope the season is gentle on your friend. It can be everso more devastating to feel that way and have to try to function when not everyone understands how hard it is to deal with. Your support must mean so much to your friend. A beautiful write. Love Robin

Wow, I sure know a lot of people who would agree with this poem. The holidays are extremely tough for those who are depressed for whatever reason. Very thoughtful and heartfelt. There is nothing like a hug, and a listening ear. Beautiful. Love, Shar

Holidays can be so hard for some...those who are going through family, financial, crisis or sadness of any kind. Let us not forget them. A good reminder, Barbara. ~ Carrie

...and there are many of them. Christmas can be a desperate time, with little or no joy... you're right; a hug is often the best way to say I care. Happy Holidays and God bless, Keith
