Holding You In a Dance

holding you in a dance the side-by-side stroll raising my arm is your cue begins the whirlwind a whisper crosses the floor you turn into me my hand slides to the hips fold arm into mine bringing in the warmth cheek to cheek, lips to ear i adore you now the gentle separation my arm reaches into the heavens hers in hand as my other lowers begins the magic in her pirouette as she turns her hair rushes shoulder to shoulder i am spellbound in the wave the foam appears receding, revealing the ivory neck of the Venus i so adore the ear comes into full view where so often i hover a butterfly caught in the magic acquiring drams in a captivating meadow moments spent in endearment as that cheek-nose comes into view i see Greek sculptors lost in a daydream where chisel and stone await in reverence as my hand pulls your hip in lips in a simper, a delicious temptation but not enough to deter our eyes embracing as hysteria succumbs to ecstasy our cheeks glide into one another i am in a moment with her ear i missed you this is how my world turns in the heavens we are OKC 12/22

Dear Timothy, the immediate intimacy and beauty of your poem takes my breath away as my heart is held in your dance. Exquisite, emotional, euphoric! Let the music play and may the dance never end. Warmest wishes, my inspiring friend.. ~Susan

Passionate lines penned in this one. Thanks for sharing and for dropping by my page. I wonder what dance that was and what was the music. Sara

Wonderfully romantic, Tim; the mingling of motion with music, bodies gliding together, supporting one another -- Lovely poetry throughout!

Timothy! You’ve sent a freshness to love poetry here. PLEASE go to Youtube to see Elevation Worship Music song, “Dancing” from their CD “Lion”. You will not regret the effort! As you likely know, i seriously studied ballet & have also written love/dancing poems about me & my Jim. Real joining, mind dancing. Bravo! New Year hugs of thanks! sally

i fail to see worship music as couples dancing....as far as attending churches i lead a solitary life of the eremite....it is a good song indeed....such gladness you and Jim live in dance and writing is truly a blessing....it will pay in great dividends

thank you harry....it is such a blessing we poets have....at this stage where we ache in all the places we used to play.....we have the moments in memory where we relive the magic in it all....
