Hold On

As I reach
through the darkness,
the void,
I know my hands
will find you
reaching back for me.
I feel elated
in knowing
that you feel the same
as I feel.
It’s an amazing gift,
the gift we share,
as a kinship
can inspire poetry
and move mountains.
Let not,
our hands tire
or fall,
but let them
find the other’s
fingers in order
to grab onto
and hold within
the mind of
the poet.
