His Words

His words: "You're a drug. An addiction"
My words: "How is this so? I'm not something you've experienced."
His words: "Your love."

I walk away at the sound of this lie.
You see, my love is something he has not received.
I have none to give.
For my heart is frozen and black.

His words: "So sweet. A rare delicacy you are."
My words: "How would you know? I have not given you a taste."
His words: "Your kiss."

I lick my lips, as my heart begins to race.

My words: "But that is not something you have had."
His words: "But I dream of it."

"You are there with a heart as cold as ice.
And I am here,
Warm with delight
every time I see you"

Those were his words....

...And my heart melts
