His Sapling Lemon Tree
Nothing unusual blossomed to welcome spring
But yet, we marvel at the growth
of the heart's resilience
~
In this early morning's half-lit hour
to watch her fondle the branch of sour fruit,
we see her smile,.....reassured....
It makes one's eyes sting
As if they were
burned by the fruit's tangy juice
~
He would have been pleased
to know three lovely lemons
survived in spite of winter's frost
She fills her pockets, with the fruit of their love
