His Love Bears Fruit

Choked by cares, riches and pleasures,
were the seeds that fell among thorns.
The word of the Lord could bear no fruit
in the heart of one by the world so torn.

Laying aside the things of this world,
I humbly sought for the things of a better.
His love bears fruit to perfection in me,
not just by living the law to the letter.
