His Fervent Plea

In the rushing of waves he calls to me
Lost long ago on ship sailing the sea
Voice of anguish he tries to set me free
My ears deaf to his echoed fervent plea

I shall not leave him much longer alone
Nor attune my heart or ever condone
thoughts of listening to wild winds bemoan
the fate of the man I once called my own

Our children all grown with mates at their side
The rushing waves at tonight's eventide
shall carry me to the depths where he died
no longer apart, in death we'll abide

No more salty tears shall fall from my eyes
I'll not hear his sad voice in anguished cries

Excellent monorhyme sonnet, great depth, flow, and images, plus the intensity of feelings. Perfect title and fantastic closing lines. A 7 indeed.

Danny, you know I'm not a show off, and this sonnet is no more special than those you write, but I will humbly take your comments. Thanks.
